So, it's been ages since I wrote anything in this blog but that doesn't mean I've been an idle knitter! (got a big grin on my face). Yes, I've been horribly slow with DH's sweater; I'm on the second sleeve (yay!). Oh, I almost forgot. I hope everyone's holiday season was an especially good one. I got one of my favorite things: a knitting retreat! This time I'll be going up to the shore in Massachusetts. I'm very excited about it.

Getting back to knitting... The past Sunday, the 25th, I went to a mitten class at my favorite LYS, Countrywool. I made these:

And here's another view:

These are for DS #2. My little guy keeps losing or misplacing his gloves so I thought with the leftover yarn I had from DS#1 Nordic sweater I'd make mittens. I've been knitting up I-cord to attach the 2 together but I'm not sure if that's really going to work well with the mittens. They were a snap to make, too. I suspect that they knit up quickly since I had little hands to cover but when I compare the amount of time I knit a hat recently, all in all it was one of the fastest projects I've done. Instant gratification, well, sort of.
The weather people are calling for a bad snowstorm starting much later today so I'm off to do some shopping. Keep on knitting!
